The Night the Reindeer Came to Play - Book Review
The Night the Reindeer Came to Play:
A Fun Counting and Rhyming Holiday Book for Toddlers and Early Readers
by Maria Votto
The Night the Reindeer Came to Play is a fun little book. It teaches little kids to count and be familiar with the visuals of numbers.
One after another, nine reindeer decide to visit a little friend’s home. The first reindeer creeps into the house and eats all of the family’s food while texting on his phone. The child asks for the reindeer’s identity. But, before the latter can answer, another reindeer appears. And then followed by another. And, still, another one appears! Until there are nine of them before the child. They have a little adventure and fun, making mischievous acts.
Finally, after they’re done, the reindeer bid farewell to the child. It’s Christmas Eve and they need to help Santa.
The Night the Reindeer Came to Play Rating
The Night the Reindeer Came to Play is a fun counting book for little children. It’s a fantastic read-aloud story for young listeners. Even older kids who are able to read will enjoy the fun activities of the reindeer.I commend the author’s style of presenting the story. The rhyming words are sweet to listen to. Maria Votto makes sure that the young listener recalls the number of reindeer performing a certain activity. The numbers are also printed in red bold figures for easy identification. Added to the fun and excitement are the large and beautiful illustrations that surely captivate the children.
Overall, The Night the Reindeer Came to Play is a good book to share during family bonding time. Especially this Christmas season when families get together, it’s fun to read exciting stories to the little ones. I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. And, I recommend it to parents and guardians with children 2 – 6 years old.
